Metadata Camp is the best investment I have made in my business of six years. With this knowledge, I can now provide an elevated experience for my clients and reconsider my pricing structure to reflect that. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was that good.

— Daina, 2017 Metadata Camp Alum

Metadata is just a fancy word for memories. Just like your grandmother’s handwriting on the back of old photos, metadata is how your grandchildren will learn about you and your legacy. And just like your grandmother’s script, the metadata you add to your photos today will bring your family history to life for future generations.

You’re invited to attend metadata bootcamp, an intensive workshop where you will improve your photo organizing knowledge and software expertise. By mastering digital image workflow and image (metadata) management, you’ll be more confident selling your services to clients. Together, we’ll cover the core competencies necessary for DPO Certification in an intimate setting with experienced instructors. You’ll learn how to do more, in less time, while increasing your revenue.

At Metadata Camp you’ll learn:

  • Why metadata matters
  • How you can make sure it’s embedded in photos
  • How you can use your metadata expertise to increase your credibility with clients
  • How you can help your clients collaborate with family members to capture metadata
  • How to create a sustainable, efficient workflow for managing collections of images
  • Which tech tools and software are best suited for you and your clients
  • How to expertly use Adobe Lightroom and PhotoMechanic
  • New pricing strategies that will increase your revenue

Lisa Kurtz, APPO
Lisa Kurtz developed her passion for photos and storytelling at an early age after losing her mother, grandmother, aunt and uncle over a short 3-year span. With a box of unidentified photos from her mother’s life and no maternal relatives to help her unlock her mom’s story, Lisa embarked on a lifelong quest to tell her own story to her family and future grandchildren. She eventually turned that passion into a career helping others to organize and share their family photos and stories. Lisa is the Director of Operations and Training at APPO. In this role, she develops, delivers and maintains the internal support and training programs for the APPO’s 600 membership base.
